Sonicson BEAGLE Music Retrieval System

  • How can the user be induced to use the right subset of natural language?

  • Users need quick and simple structured query examples for free text based searches
  • The example queries need to convey the point that the possible queries are different than traditional queries

  To explain the usibality issue to the user, we added some examples and variations above the search field (see screenshot).
  The pictures shows weeknesses from an early version: The users ignored the possibilty of natural language queries in the example.
